Chad Carlsson, OD, FAAO

Dr. Chad A. Carlsson, "Dr. C," graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry (ICO) in 2003 and in 2004 completed a residency in Binocular Vision Disorders. From there, Dr. Carlsson started his practice Carlsson Family Eye Center from 2006-2020 before selling his practice and relocating to Charleston, South Carolina in early 2021.

During his tenure as medical director of Carlsson Family Eye Center, Dr. Carlsson completed his Fellowship with the American Academy of Optometry and later expanded his scope of practice in ocular disease, myopia management and specialty contact lens fittings.

Dr. Carlsson and his wife, Tanya, recently opened their new practice, The Look Eyecare Center, in Point Hope, Charleston and is teaming up with Dr. Brad Bodkin and his associates at The Vision Center of Seaside Farms to help provide quality eyecare in their respective communities.

Dr. Carlsson and Tanya have a blended family of 8 children with a new granddaughter on the way!  As you can imagine, Summertime and the Holidays are fun when they all get together to catch-up and celebrate life!  Dr. Carlsson and Tanya both love sports and country music.  They enjoy live music, dancing, and attending their children's sporting events besides watching college SEC and ACC football together!  As well as travel, they really enjoy the local adventures to North Myrtle Beach for Shag Dancing, downtown Charleston for shopping, beach life for relaxing and boating around Winyah Bay where they happily reside in Georgetown, SC.
